A Video Claiming That Dog Deworming Medication Fenbendazole Cures Cancer

A video circulating on TikTok and Facebook shows a Canadian veterinarian making claims that dog deworming medication fenbendazole cures cancer. The drug, which is only approved in Canada as an antiparasitic for animals, has never been proven to treat human cancer.

The video, created by the veterinarian Andrew Jones, shows a Joe Tippens, who says that his stage four lung cancer cured after he started taking fenbendazole along with curcumin and CBD. His cancer was originally diagnosed as small-cell lung cancer, but it spread to his neck, right lung, stomach, liver, bladder and tail bone. He was told by his doctors that he had three months to live. He then decided to try the alternative medicine protocol, which included fenbendazole, he said in a follow-up video.

Jones argues that the medication cures cancer because it induces ferroptosis, which kills cancer cells. He also claims that he has seen similar results among his patients. However, he does not provide any evidence to support his claims. In fact, research has shown that anthelmintics such as fenbendazole cause no significant effects on the growth of cancer cells, and they do not cause any changes in the number of spontaneous lung metastases in mice that were exposed to radiation.

To explore the accuracy of Jones’ claim, researchers conducted focus group interviews with 21 cancer patients. The interviewees were given a semi-structured questionnaire and asked to indicate the acquisition channel of general cancer information and false information, the quality of obtained information, and their perception toward fenbendazole as an alternative cancer treatment. fenbendazole cancer treatment
